Morris: 'Gardai asked Raphoe man to stitch-up McBrearty's'

The Morris Tribunal has heard an allegation that two Gardai asked a Raphoe man to stitch-up the McBrearty family in relation to the death of Ritchie Barron.

Paul Gallagher claimed he was told to get his story straight because the McBrearty's were being blamed for the death of the Raphoe cattle dealer.

Gallagher claimed he was also told by the same two Gardai that he was being blamed for the murder of Ritchie Barron.

Gallagher said he believed he was being blamed by the McBrearty's and he wanted to put the blame back on them.

However, Gallagher's evidence was questioned when it emerged he was thrown out of Frankies Night Club in Raphoe on the night Ritchie Barron was found dead and was seen driving dangerously in Raphoe.

Gallagher also admitted he had told a number of lies in previous statements.
