Priest steps down to allow complaint investigation

A Catholic priest in Co Tipperary has been asked to step down from his ministry in the Diocese of Cashel and Emly while an investigation into a complaint made against him is carried out.

A Catholic priest in Co Tipperary has been asked to step down from his ministry in the Diocese of Cashel and Emly while an investigation into a complaint made against him is carried out.

The nature of the complaint against the priest has not been specified by authorities, and

a Garda source said no complaints had been filed against the priest in the Tipperary division.

It's believed the complaint may have originated from an alleged incident which occurred over 30 years ago in the United States.
