The Irish Congress of Trade Unions has called for corporation tax to be frozen at 16%, despite Government promises to reduce the rate to 12.5% by next year.

The Irish Congress of Trade Unions has called for corporation tax to be frozen at 16%, despite Government promises to reduce the rate to 12.5% by next year.

In its pre-budget submission, the ICTU also called for social welfare payments to be linked to inflation, saying the poorest members of society should not be forced to pay for the economic downturn.
