Police in Northern Ireland have recovered a loaded handgun following a search in Newtownabbey, Co Antrim.

Police in Northern Ireland have recovered a loaded handgun following a search in Newtownabbey, Co Antrim.

The gun was discovered shortly before 11am this morning at the rear of houses in the predominantly protestant Rathcoole area. No arrests have been made.
