Real IRA claims responsibility for Co Tyrone attack
The Real IRA has claimed responsibility for a failed attack at Castlederg Police Station in Co Tyrone last night.
A coffee jar containing explosives and nails was thrown over the wall of the station, but failed to explode.
The dissident republican group admitted responsibility for the attack in a telephone call to a Derry newsroom this afternoon.
Real IRA prisoners in Portlaoise and England have called on the current leadership to disband, saying they were engaged in corrupt activities for their own financial gain.
The prisoners also said that the Real IRA's military campaign has no prospect of succeeding and should therefore end.
Real IRA members outside of prison are believed to oppose any disbandment moves.
