Ahern thanks party for Nice drive
The Taoiseach has said that he is grateful to his party members and those who campaigned for a 'Yes' vote in the Nice Treaty referendum.
Speaking at an annual commemoration in Bodenstown in Co Clare this afternoon, Mr Ahern said that the treaty is a very important vote for Ireland but mainly for the applicant countries.
Noting that they had worked for ten years to get to this point, he said that the Nice Treaty meant an enormous amount to them.
Mr Ahern said that Ireland would now be viewed in a good light by the rest of Europe.
