€450K of drugs and €190K cash seized in drugs raids

€450,000 of drugs and €190,000 in cash was seized in two separate drugs seizures overnight.

The first was a planned search by the Garda National Drugs unit and drugs units from Ballyfermot and Clondalkin of two houses in the Ballyfermot area at 9pm last night.

About two kilos of heroin with a street value of €300,000 was seized in one house and €190,000 cash was recovered in the second house.

Six men, all from the Ballyfermot and Ronanstown area, were arrested and are being detained in Ballyfermot and Clondalkin stations under Sect 2 of the Drug Trafficking Act.

They can be held for up to seven days.

The second search involved the Clontarf/Raheny drugs unit. They arrested an 18-year-old male in the Killbarrack area at 6.30am today.

The man was in possession of cannabis resin and ecstasy with a street value of €150,000.

He is currently being detained at Clontarf Garda station under Sect 2 Drug Trafficking Legislation.

He can be held for up to seven days.
