FG hits out at Barrett after revelations

Fine Gael Party Chairman Bernard Durkan has said hit out at 'No to Nice' spokesman Justin Barrett

after it emerged he spoke at an event organised by Germany’s National Democratic Party.

"It is surprising that Justin Barrett took so long to remember that he had been at the National Democratic Party's (NDP) rally in Germany. It is even more surprising that he didn't realise that in attending, he was endorsing a blatantly neo-nazi party," said Mr Durkan.

"This is only relevant to the Nice campaign in so far as, some people might be inclined to vote no on the basis of the judgement and advice proffered by Mr Barrett. His endorsement of the NDP whether intentional or otherwise, shows his judgement to be flawed to a point that people should not follow his advice," added Mr Durkan.
