FG's Ring won't canvass in FF protest

Fine Gael TD Michael Ring has announced his intention not to canvass in the Nice Treaty referendum campaign in protest at Fianna Fail’s apparent complacency on the issue.

The outspoken Mayo TD said he has not seen any Fianna Fail councillors, TDs, Senators or MEPs campaigning for a ‘yes’ vote in his constituency.

He added that he will continue to encourage a ‘yes’ vote, but will not canvass in support of this stance.
