Sinn Fein say Cowen is scaring public

Sinn Fein has accused the Government of scaremongering over the Nice Treaty.

Sinn Fein has accused the Government of scaremongering over the Nice Treaty.

The accusation comes after the Minister for Foreign Affairs Brian Cowen said that a "No" vote in referendum would mean a loss of jobs for the country.

TD Aengus O’Snodaigh is calling on the Minister to produce evidence to back up claims or withdraw them.

The Dublin South Central TD wants Brian Cowen to come up with the backing for such comments.

Mr Cowen earlier this morning said that a "yes" vote would safeguard Irish jobs.
