Reid: 'We must pursue terror allegations'

Northern Ireland Secretary John Reid tonight pledged that the investigation into allegations of terrorist activity would be pursued to its conclusion, regardless of the political consequences for the peace process.

Speaking at the Northern Ireland Office in London, Dr Reid said he had been aware of the police investigation for some time, but had not personally authorised today’s raids at Sinn Fein’s Stormont office, which were a matter for the chief constable of the Police Service of Northern Ireland.
