FF insists Nice does not damage neutrality

Fianna Fail has reiterated its view that arguments against the Nice Treaty based on Irish neutrality are groundless.

Party spokesman Brian Cowen insisted that the treaty will actually secure Irish neutrality because it includes a declaration that Ireland cannot join a common EU defence policy without a referendum on the matter.
