Reid urges republicans to renounce violence

Northern Secretary John Reid has urged republicans to renounce violence in an effort to reassure unionists who are growing increasingly disillusioned with the Good Friday Agreement.

“You cannot continue to ride two horses at once,” Dr Reid said, “especially if the two horses are as far apart as violence and democracy.”
