Justice Minister Michael McDowell has called on the media to reveal the source of allegations that a serving cabinet minister received a corrupt payment of £80,000 between 1989 and 1992.

Mr McDowell accused the media of engaging in a “feeding frenzy” over the claims, which he said nobody seems able to confirm.
