Police blame IRA for driver attack

Police in Derry say they now believe the IRA carried out an attack on a bus driver at the weekend.

The driver was hit on the head with a lump hammer and shot in both legs as he arrived in the Creggan Estate.

He was bringing pensioners back from a trip to Donegal. The victim also blamed the IRA because of a row over a man exiled from the city, allegedly by the IRA.
