President Mary McAleese is continuing her state visit to Malaysia, where she hopes to dispel any belief that all western countries are distrusting of Islamic states.

In a speech to the Insitute for Diplomatic and Foreign Relations in Kuala Lumpur, she said small nations like Ireland must work to build friendships and relationships.

And she said that trust must not be allowed to be destroyed by terrorists.
