A boy was killed today after a fire engine collided with a car in Northern Ireland.

A boy was killed today after a fire engine collided with a car in Northern Ireland.

The accident happened on the Derrylin Road near Enniskillen, Co Fermanagh at 11.20am.

The toddler, aged one-and-a-half, was travelling in the car along with several others who were taken to hospital for treatment.

As police launched an investigation, a Northern Ireland Fire Service spokeswoman refused to comment until the circumstances surrounding the accident became clear.
