Cox: Look at Nice 'bigger picture'

The President of the European Parliament is campaigning in the south west of the country today for a yes vote in the Nice Treaty referendum.

Pat Cox is appealing to voters not to sacrifice Ireland's place in Europe in favour of expressing dissatisfaction with the Government.

Mr Cox was speaking in West Cork and was adamant that domestic and European issues are completely separate and must be dealt with separately.

He says people must stand back from internal conflicts and look at the bigger picture of Ireland in Europe.

Politicians and business representatives have been appealing to the public to ignore domestic issues ahead of the Nice Treaty vote.
