IFA: Industry threats will not deter us

IFA protests at 11 meat factories across the country have resulted in no slaughters today.

Farmers have now decided to step up their campaign against low cattle prices and have been demonstrating at six AIB plants and five Dawn Meat plants.

The IFA national chairman said that farmers are rejecting the idea put forward by the Irish Meat Association that they are putting the whole industry at risk.

He said the prices being offered compared to what is in the market place is ridiculous.
