A report suggesting that Iarnrod Eireann plans to close lines in the south of the country have sparked anger.

A report suggesting that Iarnrod Eireann plans to close lines in the south of the country have sparked anger.

It is thought that the closure is part of a cost cutting plan. It has now emerged that staff are planning to meet management and SIPTU on the issue on Tuesday.

Even though the Minister for Transport and Iarnroad Eireann are both adamant that no closures are expected, Fine Gael say that a report proves that there are.

TD Paul Keogh says that there are cuts planned between Rosslare and Gorey and Rosslare and Limerick.
