Dana says no vote will not affect investment
Irish MEP Rosemary ‘Dana’ Scallon has rejected claims that rejection of the Nice Treaty will drive investment out of Ireland.
Ms Scallon is campaigning for a no vote in the referendum on the Treaty on October 19 and she opened her campaign today by telling businesses that they will not suffer if the Treaty is rejected.
“Irish businesses will continue to trade in all member states and applicant states,” she said.
“A lot of our investment is from America and that will also continue. We are still and will be a full participating member of the European Union.”
