Travel agents furious over cut in commission
Travel agents are reacting with fury to Aer Lingus' decision to cut their commission from 5% to 1%.
The airline says the reduced cuts will lead to yet lower air fares for passengers.
The Irish Travel Agents Association is warning it will not tolerate the move.
It is demanding a meeting with the Minister for Transport. ITAA President, Tony Brazil, said his members are outraged.
"These are savage cuts, the Irish Travel Agents Association have been staunch supporters of Aviation in Ireland particularly, supporting Aer Lingus through the bad and the good days, and this is an act of treachery in our books.
They are not doing any favours to the customers, they are putting a number of jobs at risk."
