Nurses in Limerick return after stoppage

Nurses at the Mid-Western Regional Hospital in Limerick have returned to work after a planned one hour work-stoppage.

A work to rule began at three hospitals in the Mid-Western Health Board region today over a claim for better on-call and call-out rates for nurses, recommended by the Labour Court.

Hospitals in Nenagh, Co Tipperary and Ennis, Co Clare were also affected by the stoppage.

The Irish Nurses' Organisation industrial relations officer Helen Rouine says patients are unaffected by the action.
