Four Irish charged after Sellafield protest

Four Irish environment campaigners have been released on bail after chaining themselves to the roof of a visitor's centre at the Sellafield nuclear plant.

The three men and one woman from Clare, Limerick, Tipperary and Kilkenny are due in court in Whitehaven in nine days time.

The four members of the lobby group Gluaiseacht, timed their protest to coincide with the return of nuclear material to Sellafield via the Irish sea. A flotilla of ships are preparing to protest when the controversial cargo enters the Irish sea in the next few days.
