Loyalists in north Belfast threw missiles at police from the top of a 13-storey block of flats last night after officers moved to arrest a local woman.

The violence took place in the Mount Vernon area, a UVF stronghold, after police arrested the woman in connection with the seizure of a quantity of ammunition during a search operation.
