The Pro Cathedral in Dublin was full to capacity today for a special mass to commemorate the 2,800 people who died in last year’s attack on New York and Washington.

The Pro Cathedral in Dublin was full to capacity today for a special mass to commemorate the 2,800 people who died in last year’s attack on New York and Washington.

The first anniversary service was attended by the family of Mark Coughlan, who died in the attack.

Also present were the Taoiseach, Bertie Ahern, and several members of the Dublin fire brigade.

In his homily, Raymond Fielding, the auxiliary Bishop of Dublin, said September 11 was a turning point in history and will be remembered as a day that changed the world forever.
