Businesses disappointed at ESB price increase

It said many of its members are already struggling with substantial wage increases and rises in insurance costs over the past 12 months.

The business community has reacted with disappointment to the Commission for Energy Regulation’s decision to sanction a 9.85% increase in electricity charges for the business community.

Domestic customers will bear the brunt of the increase, but large businesses are still facing a 4.2% increase and small businesses a 8.4% increase.
