Green Party call for emergency Dail debate on US-Iraq crisis

The Green Party is calling for an emergency Dail debate on the US-Iraq crisis.

The Party says Ireland’s position on any such war should be clarified. The Greens say any use of Irish air bases for attacks would be unjustified.

Green TD, John Gormley, says a war against Iraq could make Ireland just as guilty as the USA.

"I am particularly worried about the possibility of Irish involvement in these attacks, we gave our support during the attacks on Afghanistan, that war is now continuing as we now know. I think Irish involvement in such an attack would be entirely unjustified."
