IRA man refuses to give names of IRA members
A former leading IRA man has told the Bloody Sunday inquiry there are no circumstances in which he would give the names of IRA members to the tribunal.
Ex-prisoner and hunger striker Raymond McCartney said, however, he would encourage everyone with relevant evidence to come forward.
Raymond McCartney was in his mid-teens when the Catholic community in Derry was devastated by the killing of thirteen men on Bloody Sunday.
Like many others, it profoundly affected him and he later joined the IRA, going on to serve a life sentence during which he nearly died on hunger strike.
