Government defends Ahern South Africa speech

The Government is defending the Taoiseach’s speech in South Africa yesterday against Opposition claims of hypocrisy.

Fine Gael says Bertie Ahern’s call for nations to meet their overseas aid targets was a public relations stunt, given recent cuts in Ireland’s budget.
