INO seeks LRC assistance in 35-hour week campaign

The Irish Nurses Organisation has decided to take its claim for a 35-hour working week to the Labour Relations Commission.

The organisation has also asked the LRC to assist in its campaign for an additional allowance for nurses working in Dublin and for improved shift payments.

The INO said the benchmarking body has failed to address these issues.

The organisation’s president, Clare Spillane, said: "The findings of the benchmarking body represent a missed opportunity to address the core issues which have caused the recruitment and retention problems in nursing and midwifery in recent years."
