A 16-year-old youth is due to appear in Antrim magistrates court later today charged with attempted murder.

The charges relate to an incident in the town last Friday night when a 15-year-old Catholic boy was injured in a hatchet attack around 11.30pm.

Michael Craig from the Greystone Road area of the town remains critically ill in Belfast's Royal Victoria Hospital.
