Garda injured in Dundalk

Gardai have initiated an inquiry over an assault on a garda in Dundalk last night.

The injured garda was called to disturbance at 3am on Park Street in the town.

The officer received injuries to the face when he went to intervene.

He was then taken to Louth County Hospital where he received treatment.
