Minister says EU determined to meet environmental targets
The EU is determined to secure a positive outcome on environmental targets and deadlines at the earth summit in Johannesburg.
Environment Minister, Martin Cullen, who is attending the summit, says progress has already been made.
He claims the EU is determined to turn words into action.
Minister Cullen also claims that important agreements on chemicals have been reached and this is good news for the planet.
Green Party chairman, John Gormley, however claims while agreements may be reached they are being watered down as countries are keeping their own interests at the fore.
