GRA call for forum to discuss future of Gardai

The Garda Representative Association says a forum should be set up to map out the future of the Garda Siochana, in light of recent scandals.

The GRA says it is vital all relevant parties co-operate fully with the Morris Tribunal, which has been established to examine claims of garda misconduct in Donegal.

Garda Michael O’Boyce of the GRA said all officers in the county will fully co-operate with the Morris Tribunal.

Gda O'Boyce said: "Certainly the members I represent will be taking as full a part as required.

"The future of the what type of garda service is required is vitally important and I think the time has come to set up a round-table forum, where everyone could sit down with an equal voice and map out what type of service we want."
