Planning body approves Co Meath landfill

An Bord Pleanala has approved a controversial landfill project at a 66-acre site near Navan in Co Meath.

Locals had opposed the plan, which will see 132,000 tonnes of waste dumped at the site every year until 2007 and 88,000 tonnes from 2008 onwards.
