SIPTU vows to resist WHB job cuts
SIPTU has vowed to strongly resist any plans to cut jobs in the Western Health Board.
The Government has ordered the board to make savings of $1.15m, a move its chief executive said would necessitate 200 lay-offs.
The Government, however, said the savings could be achieved by not filling 85 proposed positions.
SIPTU said any job cuts would adversely affect patient care.
