FG slams Govt 'attack' on free education

Fine Gael has described the Government’s 69% increase in student registration fees as an attack on the concept of free education.

Party spokesman Michael Ring said Education Minister Noel Dempsey’s decision to raise the fees will force poorer people to abandon hopes of achieving a third-level education.
