Plane makes emergency landing at Shannon

A flight from the Netherlands to the United States has made an emergency landing at Shannon Airport after a fire broke out in the galley area of the plane.

The Northwest Airlines flight was carrying 234 passengers and 11 crew when it was diverted at around midday.
