Labour criticises Minister on Hep C appeal

The Labour party is sharply criticising the Minister for Health’s decision to appeal a high court ruling on compensation for Hepatitis C victims.

This decision allowed people infected by contaminated blood products greater scope for compensation.

However, late yesterday evening, Michael Martin announced he would be challenging the judgement in the Supreme Court.

Labour’s Liz McManus is accusing the Minister of hiding behind legal devices.
