Two separate stabbing incidents in city

Two men are in hospital in Dublin, one in a critical condition, following two separate incidents in the city overnight. A man is fighting for his life after he was stabbed repeatedly in the chest.

Two men are in hospital in Dublin, one in a critical condition following two separate incidents in the city overnight. A man is fighting for his life after he was stabbed repeatedly in the chest.

He was found slumped on a pathway on Harrington Street, just off the South Circular road at 3.40am this morning.

In a second incident, a 25-year-old man suffered serious head injuries when he was beaten up in the city centre. He was set upon by two men on Lord Edward Street.

Twp people - a 21-year-old and a 25-year-old from Scotland and Northern Ireland - were arrested close to the scene. They are expected to appear at Dublin District Court today.
