Gardai name Co Waterford crash victim

Gardai in Co Waterford have named the 62-year-old woman who died in a road accident yesterday as Mairead Power, from Loskeran in Old Parish.

Ms Power died when the car she was driving hit a wall in Ring.

Gardai are still withholding the name of an 84-year-old man who died after being hit by a car near his Co Westmeath home yesterday.

The man was knocked down as he crossed the road in Rathconrath, on the Mullingar to Ballymahon road.
