Man dies while mountain climbing in Kerry
A man in his early forties has died while climbing near Ireland’s highest mountain.
The man, believed to be Irish, was walking between Carrantouhil and the nearby Caher Mountain, when he died of natural causes, possibly a heart attack.
Fellow climbers raised the alarm at around 2.30pm this afternoon, and a team from Kerry Mountain rescue stretchered the man to the base.
The body is being taken to Tralee General hospital for a post mortem examination.
