Troubled times expected at CIE

CIE’s annual report will be launched next week and is expected to show a crisis developing at the company.

The figures are reported to show an operating deficit of around €7million.

The company are believed to be seeking a 14% hike in Bus Eireann fares, a 9% rise for several fares on Iarnród Eireann.

In Dublin a 20% jump in Dublin Bus fares is being sought, and a 15% rise in the price of a DART ticket.
