Sligo based Garda pleads guilty to forgery charges

A Sligo based Garda Sergeant pleaded guilty to three charges under the Forgery Act this afternoon. Garda John Nicholson of Cornageeha in Sligo appeared before a sitting of Riverstown District Court.

A Sligo based Garda Sergeant pleaded guilty to three charges under the Forgery Act this afternoon. Garda John Nicholson of Cornageeha in Sligo appeared before a sitting of Riverstown District Court.

He is the second member of the Gardai to be charged in connection with the McBrearty affair. Nicholson pleaded guilty to charges of uttering or passing of employer’s certificates to claim expenses to appear in court in Donegal.
