Omagh relatives criticise governments' inaction

Relatives of the victims of the Omagh bombing have criticised the British and Irish governments’ failure to take action against the suspected Real IRA members believed to have been behind the blast.

Earlier today, lawyers for the families served civil writs on two men at their homes in Dundalk, Co Louth, seeking damages in relation to the bombing.

Stanley McCombe, whose wife Anne died in the 1998 attack, said: "It’s unbelievable that a group within the bereaved families have had to go to these lengths to try and get justice.

"We have a government who really didn’t want to help too much and it is only by our perseverance that we have got to where we are today."
