Funeral of murdered Catholic man takes place
The funeral of the 19-year-old Catholic man shot dead on Monday is taking place around now.
Gerard Lawlor was shot dead by the UDA as he walked home from a local pub on Sunday night.
Leading the mourners is the dead man's parents, Sharon and John, and his girlfriend, Siobhan.
The huge funeral procession, proceeded by two police motorcycle outriders, will stop for a minute's silence at the spot on Floral Road where he was gunned down by a UDA gunman on a motorbike.
Hundreds of bouquets and children's toys have been tied to the railings where the murder took place. He was apparently targeted because of the Celtic top he was wearing.
The funeral will take place at St. Gerard's church on the Antrim Road before internment at Carnmoney cemetery.
