The father of an unarmed IRA man shot dead by the RUC 10 years ago has accused the British Government of attempting to cover up murders carried out by the security forces in the North.

Hugh Jordan, whose 21-year-old son Pearse was killed by undercover RUC officers on the Falls Road in 1992, said Britain is "dragging its heels" over the implementation of a ruling by the European Court of Human Rights last year.

The European court ruled that Britain breached the right to life of 12 people killed by the Northern security forces by failing to hold adequate inquests into their deaths.

Despite the ruling, an inquest has still not been held into the death of Pearse Jordan.
