Byrne says illegal immigrant scoop was just the beginning

Garda Commissioner Pat Byrne has said that today’s massive swoop on illegall immigrants is just the beginning of an operation to ensure those who are here illegally are deported.

He said: "This is day one of a continuous process - let's watch what happens over the coming weeks and months and see how this develops. I'm very happy by the end of today and how it worked out. And I look forward to further success in this particular area."
