The only Irish bishop to serve with the Defence Forces will review his final military guard of honour today.

The only Irish bishop to serve with the Defence Forces will review his final military guard of honour today.

Walton Empey, the Anglican Archbishop of Dublin, is due to inspect the 10th infantry battalion Defence Force reserve at the Curragh camp.

Dr Empey was an FCA private in the 1950s and said he feels honoured by today’s guard of honour, which comes ahead of his retirement next month.
